Today, May 1st, at 15:50, the Angels came and escorted my Rebekah, of 15 years, back to heaven from whence she came. Mind you, this was no regular Pomeranian.
She had trod the Pascoula River Swamp, climbed to over 12000 feet in the Sierra Nevada, slept in snow caves, trout fished the Red Hat, and visited the SETI antenna area. When the big snow came to Death Valley, Rebekah saw and smelled flowers unseen for over 100 years. She led the way over one mile underground through a volcanic lava tube and then went 500 miles out into the Gulf of Mexico with NASA. She flew in a sail plane over the Desolation Wilderness.
Rebekah also spent many hours sitting in my lap in the vast wilderness watching the sun rise and set. She watched as a Badger took food from my hand and and as a Magpie pulled hair from my head one morning and then wove it into her nest.
Rebekah and I ate from the same plate and drank from the same cup....
